Holidays 2011

The holidays this year were amazing. Jammed packed with family, friends, and fun. We went to Hawaii after Christmas with grandma Linda and the rest of the family. It was a blast! Thank you for everything Linda. As for the boys, they are becoming buddies more and more each day. Parker enjoys reading like no other (the leapfrog tag system is awesome). Colton runs now, continues to babble all the time and looks at me like I am supposed to understand. They both are the highlight of everyday. Happy new year to everyone. Here's to trying to update my blog more regularly. Just a few pics from our recent adventure. I will post more later but have to get ready for work.

Summer 2011

Well, summer officially came to end for me two weeks ago when school started back up. The boys and I lots of little mini vacations. We drove to Tahoe twice, Lake Almanor, Black Butte Oregon and to the bay area. Colton is almost a year now. He constantly babbles and is taking a few steps here and there. I am pretty positive he will be moving by his first birthday. Parker starts official preschool on Monday and is so excited to start learning. I have to say it makes me so happy. Being the teacher, I already have pencils ready for him to start writing his name. As for Budge and I, we are just getting back into the swing of both of us working again. 5 years already...

5 years ago today I married my best friend. Thanks Budge for being an amazing husband, friend and father. I couldn't ask for more.
With that being said, today it just so happens that both boys are napping at the same time:) So I sat down, after picking up all the toys, to peek through our wedding album and reminise about the fabulous party we had with all of our family and friends 5 years ago. All I could do was smile. It was truly the happiest day of my life along with the birth of our two sons.
So here is to the next five years and a vision of flying somewhere exotic kid free. In my dreams, right, but any grandparents reading they will be 5 and 7. Fun ages I swear I teach that age all year long. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

We started an annual family to trip to Bend, Oregon for the Fourth of July to spend it with our dear friends Doug and Andrea, along with their daughter Olivia. The boys did great on the car ride there. Parker had a blast playing outside, exploring new territory and getting to have a play date each day with Miss Olivia. We can't thank you guys enough for letting us stay with you. Hope everyone had a great holiday.

Recent Happenings

Summer has officially started for me. Our whole family has been fighting being sick for the past couple of weeks. I have to say that now I think we are all on the mend. Thank goodness. Last week Parker participated in soccer camp. He has a pretty good kick on him when he wants to follow directions. Colton is now 9 and half months. He weighs 18 pounds and still does not want to sleep through the night. We are working on this though.
This past weekend Budge and I went down to Napa to celebrate Josh and Natalie's wedding. Always a fun time getting together with old friends! Off to Bend on Friday to celebrate the 4th of July with another old friend Andrea and her beautiful family. Can't wait. Have a great week everyone.

We had an outside pirate party yesterday for Parker's third birthday. I have no idea where three years have gone. Thank you to all our family and friends who were able to join in the fun. I will post more pics later. Poor Colton is sick getting four new teeth. Yuck!

Easter 2011

We started off our Easter weekend with the arrival of Aunt Kim on Friday night. All of us headed over to Kathy's house for dinner since all the cousins were in town. On Saturday, my dad and Pam headed up. We walked around this Earth Day festival and then came home to dye Easter eggs. Last year Parker did this and liked it but man how much changes in a year. He was so in to it this year and wanted to drop all the eggs in the dye. We started off with a spin art dye machine but it did not work well, so we resorted to the old dye.

After dying eggs, Nona and PopPop thought it would be fun to give the boys their Easter baskets. Let's just say there will never be Easter grass in a basket again. Crazy mess but P loved it.

On Easter morning, the bunny had left a trail of eggs to the boys Easter baskets.

We had the whole family over minus a few. The grand total was 22. Family is so important. Here are some pictures.

I know it has been awhile but now I am on Spring Break so thought I should attempt to update this blog. Recently, we took a trip to the farm to get out of the house. Here is Parker's typical cheese smile these days. I still think he is adorable. Parker has moved up to the new preschool room and is potty trained for the most part except at night. I cannot believe he will be three in about a month. Time flies.

Ryan and a whole bunch of guys participated in a fundraiser called "Walk a Mile In Her Shoes" to bring awareness to domestic violence. Basically, the men had to walk a mile in high heels and Parker wanted to participate. Thank goodness for having his girlfriend Bryn loan him some shoes.

2011 is under way!

It truly amazes me that January is almost over. Colton turned four months and has his two bottom teeth. He giggles, smiles, babbles, tries to roll over, squirms everywhere and loves watching his older brother. He weighs 15 pounds and is 26 inches long. He is still in the 50th percentile. So different from his brother who still is in the 98th percentile for everything. Colton is a great baby and each day something is changing with him. As I am watching my second child grow, I realize all the things you forget with your first. I am just taking it all in and enjoying motherhood more. Never thought I would say that:)

As for Parker, well he is full throttle into his twos. Throwing fits here and there, challenging us on our parenting and is an overall joy to be around. I really mean that. There is nothing better than for family and friends to say what a great boy he is. He says hi to everyone anywhere we go, does and says silly things to make us smile, and comes home covered in dirt most days. He absolutely loves Colton and is so protective of him. We are in the process of potty training which is interesting to say the least. For all of you who have been through this what did you do:) He gets better each day but I think our washing machine has never seen so much laundry.

As for us as Budge and Courtney, I have been given the honor to matron of honor at my dear friend Ashley's wedding in May. We had a bridal shower for her this month which was a blast. We are heading to NY for her bachelorette party. First time being away for three nights EVER. I hope Budge can handle it. He is a great father so I am not worried. We continue to work hard and enjoy this AMAZING weather. Lots of outdoor stuff. I cannot believe that it has been over 70 degrees for the past week and half. I promise to be a better blogger and take more pictures. It is true what they say about the second. You do not take nearly as many photos:( Have a great week everyone!

New Year's in Orinda

We drove back down to the Bay Area to hang out with Tim, Tania and Corey for New Year's Eve. Parker and Corey are a kick together. Granted Parker is twice his size they really played well. They loved vaccuming, swifting, playing in the pop up tunnel, throwing plastic balls everywhere and playing in the park. Parker thought that the whole night was someone's birthday. Thanks for a great dinner and party. We all enjoyed it.

Christmas Round 2

So we decided this year that we would like to be home for Christmas morning. We invited the family up to visit the boys for a wine tasting and finger food afternoon. We had a great time! Parker thought Santa was going to be sitting in our living room on Christmas morning. He was yelling down the hall, "Santa! Santa!" Both of the boys were once again spoiled with so many great presents. We thank all of you for making Christmas one of the best this year for them.

Christmas Round 1

I have been a horrible blogger lately. Guess that is what happens when you have two kids:) I will try and update you on what we have been doing lately. We have had a wonderful December so far. The first weekend we went to Sacramento to celebrate Papa Frank's birthday with sing a long Christmas carols and good cheer with family friends. The following weekend we celebrated Parker's dear friend Bryn's second birthday and went to an ugly Christmas sweater party. Both were a blast. This past weekend we had Budge's company party and made the trek down to the Bay Area to celebrate Christmas with my family early. Parker is so into Santa and Christmas this year that I wanted to be home for him to wake up and open presents. While we were in the bay, we had a full household of babies. My dad and Pam went from having one grandson to having four grandkids this year. Recently, my stepbrother Eric and his wife Akiko, welcomed into the world baby Anica on December 14. My sister's baby is 5 months old and Colton is 3 months old. We enjoyed spending time with family, taking the boys to the farm, going to the Discovery museum and watching Parker open presents. He is a kick. There will be a video to come which will make everyone laugh. Until then, here are a few photos. Hope you enjoy and Merry Christmas to everyone. Thanksgiving 2010 & Tree Cutting

I hope everyone enjoyed the Thanksgiving holiday. We had an early Thanksgiving with my family and headed up to Lake Almanor for Thanksgiving with Papa Bill. There was a ton of snow on the ground. Parker enjoyed sledding and playing in it until his hands were freezing. On Friday we headed out to get our Christmas tree. Thank goodness we had Uncle Chris with us or else I think we would have given up and bought a tree back in town. Parker was on Budge's back the whole time and towards the end he would tell the boys "that tree is fine for Santa". Parker is getting quite an imagination and wants to know where everything lives. Colton is beginning to track objects, smile and coo along with looking at his hands for hours at a time. He is fascinated with them. He is getting so big. It is amazing how fast time goes. Can't believe Christmas is right around the corner. Wonder if I will find time to do our annual Christmas card or better yet find a picture to put on it. Heck I have not even done an announcement for Colton. Oh well. Enjoy the week ahead.

2 months old

Colton was two months old last Friday. I have no idea where the past two months have gone. He weighs 12.8 pounds and is 23.5 inches long. The doctor said he is healthy and in the 50th percentile. So different from P who was in the 95th percentile. He is beginning to smile at everything which melts my heart. He is trying to sleep longer although we have yet to make through the night. He loves watching his big brother. We headed up to Lake Almanor for the long weekend. It was a bit chilly but we still had a great time taking the boys to the snow at Lassen Park. Parker loves the snow in fact he was crawling around in it and wanted to make a snowman. Getting our Christmas tree this year is going to be magical. Of course fishing was included in our weekend activities. Enjoy the pictures.

Halloween 2010

Well, I made it through my first full week back at work. I have a wonderful class so I cannot complain but it is hard to leave the boys in the morning. We had a pretty wet week so there were plenty of puddles for Parker to play in on Saturday morning at the Farmer's Market. I wish I had a camera because he was having the time of his life. Saturday night Budge took the kids down to my school for our annual fall festival. Parker enjoyed playing the games at the booths and was scared by the man with the mask at the haunted house. He woke up the next morning telling me "Mommy, man in mask went Roar!" I had to work the ticket booth so I did not get to enjoy the festivities with them. Colton has been a great baby. He is quite the trooper going everywhere with us and is mesmerized by his big brother. He is sleeping pretty well 4 hour stints here and there but the past two nights he has only wanted to sleep in the swing after the middle of the night feeding. Currently, I am on survival mode and am just going with the flow on that one. One of these breaks I will try to cease that habit if it becomes one.

Onto Halloween, what a difference a year makes! Last year, Parker had no idea what the whole trick or treating thing was, however this year he was trying to keep up with the big kids and it was hilarious watching him walk up to every house and say trick-or-treat. The majority of the time he even said thank you too. Working on manners is constant. Anyways, now mom and dad have a ton of candy to get rid of as we are trying to get rid of the pregnancy pounds. We tried to get pictures but P was alittle to into the festivities. Have a great first week of November. Oh yeah, GO GIANTS!!! I am so excited that they won. Now I need to try to explain to P that we do not normally watch tv at night. hmmm.

For our last hurrah before I headed back to work was to go an enjoy sometime as a family in Lake Almanor. Before we headed out of town, Uncle Chris cut Parker's hair. No more curls:( Anyways we enjoyed taking the boys to the playground, fishing and watching the Giants. Tim, Tania and Corey came to visit last weekend. It was so much fun carving pumpkins and watching the Giants win the final game to go to the World Series. I started back to work Monday. Not only was it hard to go back, I received a phone call at 5 in the morning stating that the water pipe had broken at daycare so I had to find alternate care for the boys. Luckily Budge was able to stay home with them. Nothing like that news on a first day back. Hope everyone has a great Halloween!

Pumpkin Patch

What a great weekend! Budge and I got to have two date nights while Grandma Linda and Aunt Kim watched the boys. On Friday, Budge was hosting the Telluride Film Festival in town which was awesome. Saturday we headed to a local winery in Cottonwood for our first annual save the music fundraiser for my school. What a great event. Cannot wait for next year! As far as family things, we took Parker to the Coleman Fish hatchery for the return of the salmon festival. He loved watching the huge salmon try to jump out. On Sunday, we headed out to the pumpkin patch. Parker was more interested in the wheelbarrow than looking for a pumpkin. Maybe next year:) The only other news is that I start work one week from today. 6 weeks flies by. Hope everyone enjoys the week a head.

One Month Old!

I have been lacking on my blogging. Lots of things have been happening around here that I have hardly anytime to look at the computer. Recently, my grandfather, otherwise known as "Poppy" passed away. He is in a better place now and lived a wonderful 87 years. He was able to meet his great grandchildren, travel the world with my grammie and was actively hiking and playing tennis until the end of July. Luckily, he did not have to suffer long. He will be missed! I will post some pictures on another blogging day.

On a happier note, Colton is a growing machine. He is already a month old and is starting to track moving things. He watches his older brother and Parker loves to show him things along with helping him stop crying. I feel very blessed to have these two wonderful sons. Now only if I can get Colton to sleep longer than three hours before I head back to work:) Won't that be nice. Parker has been spending oodles of time with Budge since I have been gone. Such a great dad. Fishing seems to be the only thing Parker wants to do these days. Here are some photos. Hope everyone enjoys the weekend.

2 week update

It is funny the things you forget about baby stage. I forgot how much they sleep and how hard it is to wake them up. I forgot about the lack of neck muscles and the amount of diapers they go through. I forgot that you really are stuck inside since you want them to get used to things. Granted this last one is hard for me as I have to pick up Parker from school and keep this house up and going.
This week Colton became more alert and stayed awake longer which is helpful to get him on a schedule before I head back to work in a few weeks. We gave him his first bath and Parker cannot wait for him to hop in the giant tub with him one day. We hung around this weekend even though I am itching to still get out of town:) Budge's uncle had a 60th birthday dinner which both boys did great at. On Sunday, we went walking on the river trail to stay cool, since it is still 100 degrees here, and watched the boats on the river. Here are some photos and Colton's stats are 9 pounds, 5 ounces, 21 and 3/4 inches long. He is a growing boy! Enjoy your week!

Colton is a week old as of yesterday. I really cannot believe how fast that first week has come and gone. Overall, he is has been a great baby. Sleeping for four hours at a time at night, doing great in his car seat and putting up with his older brother touching him all the time. As for Parker, he wakes up asking about his baby brother Colton and shakes the rattles for him. Parker is busy wanting to make things, help out in the yard and playing legos.
We had to head down to Sacramento this weekend for our first family outing. Parker held his brother's hand most of the way. Thanks Grandma Linda and Frank for letting us crash at your place.
We would like to thank all the grandparents for their support and help as we transition into a family of four. Here are some pictures to enjoy.

Welcome to the world Colton James!

So here is the story of baby number two. On Saturday night, I started to have contractions at home and was sort of thinking I was going into false labor as I had the previous nights. Did not think anything of it until I started actually timing them and they were coming every 3 to 4 minutes. Woke Budge up from his deep sleep and told him it is time to go, got to the hospital and within an hour baby Colton entered the world. To my amazement, this one I did without any drugs. Not only was he a pound smaller than Parker, he came out with a good set of lungs and tons of hair. Budge was able to cut the cord this time around and by one in the morning on Sunday, September 12 we became a family of four. We had a room with an incredible view of Mount Shasta and the city lights. Parker came to visit us at the hospital. He is taking a great liking to his baby brother and was spoiled by all the present the baby gave him. When he first saw me he said "Mom, have another baby?" I replied, "No our friends and family will have more babies bud!" It has been such a help having grandparents around to take care of Parker and it is so nice to be home now. I hope everyone has a delightful week. I will update as I can.

We have been enjoying the cooler weather in the evening while Parker bike rides around the neighborhood. He is getting to be quite the pro on his balance bike. I have a video attached for you all to watch. We are on the count down to met the next addition to the family. I am getting more excited each day and who wouldn't be excited to see their own feet again. The new baby's nursery is a simple design done by Budge and I a few weeks ago. This past week, Parker started his new school which he seems to be adjusting to along with me. It was such a blessing for the first two years of his life to have him go to school with me. Something I think I took for granted. I have to be thankful that he is in great hands and has his special friend Bryn going to school with him. His teachers are super nice and they have tons of activities going on. He comes home and can tell me what they do each day. As for me, I went back to my classroom this week to get prepared for the upcoming school year. I am feeling a little overwhelmed knowing that I am only 4 weeks away from this next baby. Still no name for those who are wondering. This second pregnancy has been such a different experience from the first. He moves all the time especially at night and we are just getting excited to meet him. Budge took Parker up to Fall River this weekend which has been nice for me to get somethings done. Thanks Budge you are such a wonderful dad and I have appreciated the me time as I will not have that again for a long while. Hope everyone enjoys their week.

5 More Weeks Until a Family of Four!

We have a fisherman on our hands!

First I would like to say that Parker has a cousin now. My sister had baby Riley on July 21st. We cannot wait to meet her!

Parker and I have been busy enjoying these last few weeks of summer and as mom and son. It is hard to imagine having another baby around, but people do it all the time. What is new with Parker? Well, he starts his new school on Monday and loves his backpack. He already can tell me what he is going to put in it. He is putting together sentences and remembers everything. We went to Sacramento with the Jones family minus the fathers. Grandma Linda was kind enough to watch the kiddos while Holly and I shopped. More like I looked since this belly is pretty big. We also got out of the heat and headed to Lake Almanor. I think we might head up to Shasta this weekend to enjoy the cooler temps. Next week it is back to the work schedule for me. Need to get ready for this long term sub. I do not have class kids until the 16th. Hope everyone is doing well.

There is no excuse as to why I have not been blogging. Life has been crazy, but now that school is out I should be able to update you on the happenings in our household. Parker continues to amaze us each day. His vocabulary gets better and better each day, he is even putting together 2 or 3 word sentences.
We celebrated his 2nd birthday with family and a few friends. We chose a construction theme and Budge and I had this wild idea to make the cake from scratch. It turned out pretty well. I cannot believe that Parker is 2. Time really does fly.

We have been busy this summer. First a trip to celebrate our dear friends Dave and Amanda get married in upstate New York. Parker was well taken care of by his grandmas.

We also took a trip to Lake Tahoe with the Jones family. It is so much fun to have another kid around to entertain Parker.

We are finished with traveling for the most part until the holidays come around. Baby #2 is due to arrive on September 4. Wow what a different experience it is being pregnant with the second. You have absolutely no time while chasing around a toddler. We are constantly on the go with swim lessons, play dates, story time, trying to potty train and tumbling at the gym. It is so hard to believe that the summer is almost finished. 2 more weeks with my little man and then it is back to work for me no matter how huge I am

I have been the worst blogger lately. Now that spring break is here, I decided I should probably update. Life has been on the go with a toddler, expecting another one, work and all that comes in between that. We had a great Easter yesterday with the whole grandparent clan, despite the rainy weather. Parker had a great time dying Easter eggs, looking for plastic eggs and all of his gifts from the Easter bunny.
As for other things, we made a trip to Tahoe in the middle of March which was absolutely gorgeous. It took us a good nine hours to get there but P loved looking at the big rig trucks parked next to us. What entertainment for a little guy. Parker made snowmen and threw snowballs.
Not much else new, we find out on April 15th if we are having a boy or a girl. I think boy but who knows. I have been feeling great and am excited to be at the half way point in the pregnancy. Hope everyone has a great week. Enjoy some recent pics.

Some of you might have heard our latest news that we are expecting another little one on September 4th. We are very excited! Parker broke the news to the family and the school by wearing this shirt that says "I have a secret..." and on the back it says "I am going to be a big brother." Everyone loved it.
As for this weekend, Aunt Kim flew up from San Diego. Parker enjoyed seeing her. Next weekend we are headed up to the snow in Tahoe. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Hawaii 2010

We just got back from a wonderful week in Hawaii with my family. Parker was such a trooper on all the flights. He loved playing in the sand and we enjoyed the warm weather. Enjoy the pictures! WARNING: Long post!

On Wednesday, my dad and Budge went scuba diving. The girls decided to go for a walk along with the golf course.

Rain Rain Go Away!

Geez! I have been awful about updating the blog. Sorry about that. To be honest, I really have nothing to report since we have been stuck inside due to the miserable weather. For those of you who are or were teachers, you can understand how much I dread inside recess. It is like the death of me. Oh well hopefully the sun will shine again soon and in exactly three weeks we are off to Hawaii. I think I can make it that long:)

As for Parker man, he is running around, chattering up a storm, loving books still, picks up on anything you say and would like to repeat it, loves to take things apart and then put it back together and he is a great help when it comes to cleaning up. He got his second hair cut on Tuesday and is looking more like a little boy each day. He keeps me on my toes always saying "up" mama whenever I sit down. He loves puzzles, coloring and playdough. Hope everyone has a great week. We are off to San Francisco next weekend to say goodbye to my sister as she is moving to Arizona.

We hosted a New York New Year's Eve party at our house this year. We had about 20 people come over and the kids had a great time running around enjoying themselves. Today for my last day of vacation, back to work tomorrow, we went snowshoeing at Castle Lake by Mount Shasta. It was so beautiful and P liked it. Christmas Day 2009

We left Tim and Tania's early on Christmas morning to make it back to my dad's house for opening presents and his annual omelettes. Of course, Parker made out like a bandit. He had the biggest pile of presents in the living room. This year he actually tried to open the presents and rip the paper, but low and behold, he still enjoyed playing with boxes. I cannot wait to see what next year brings. Dad and Pam thank you for all the hospitality and gifts. We really appreciate it. See you in 2010!

On Saturday we headed to the zoo with my parents along with Ashley and Brian, our friends from Denver. I am so bummed I did not get any pictures of all of us together. Parker walked the whole zoo it seemed like and enjoy it even though it was pretty cold. He is pretty good at some animal sounds.

Christmas Eve 2009

After Sacramento, we continued our Christmas adventure down to the Bay Area to spend the actual holiday with my dad and stepmom. We decided to attend Tim and Tania's annual Christmas Eve festivities in Orinda. They had amazing food and a nine piece mariachi band. We could not have had a better time. Parker loves music and was having a blast sitting around watching them play and even tried to dance. Check out the video. We woke up Christmas morning at Tim and Tania's. Probably the last year P is not going to truly understand Christmas. He had an awesome train set to open from them. We headed back down to my Dad's for our annual omelette breakfast and game day!

3rd Christmas with Grandma Linda and Frank!

We headed down to Sacramento on Tuesday afternoon to spend time with Linda and Frank. Parker absolutely loved the remote control train and feeding the ducks. He is going to become a basketball star with his new basketball hoop and loves to drive around his dump truck. They also got P one of those Zhu Zhu pets and he chases it around. We all had such a great time visiting! Thanks again for everything Linda and Frank!

On Saturday, my mom and sister came to visit and celebrate an early Christmas. Parker had a blast with his new red wagon. Thanks mom! The weather has been sort of gloomy so it has been nice to be able to get the house somewhat clean and presents wrapped. Tonight we will enjoy some yummy food with Grandpa Bill for our second Christmas. Tomorrow we head down to Sacramento to celebrate with Grandma Linda and Frank! And lastly on Wednesday, we head down to the bay area to spend the actual Christmas holiday with friends and my dad and stepmom. I hope everyone is enjoying this holiday season.

San Francisco Christmas Party Weekend

This weekend we headed down to the Bay Area for my family's Christmas party. On Friday night, we stayed with our dear friends, Tim & Tania and their adorable three month old, Corey. I thought Parker was a pretty good baby, but Corey really did not fuss at all. You guys are doing a great job. Parker loved their Christmas tree and helped Corey with his pacifier. Looking forward to seeing you guys on Christmas Eve.

On Saturday morning, we continued our road trip down to my Dad's house. We helped get ready for the party. Great to see old family friends. Hope everyone has a great week. 5 days left for me until 2 weeks off. Yeah!!

Decorating for Christmas

Finally finished decorating this weekend. Looks like it could snow here tonight. The highlight of decorating was putting up the wreath made by Parker's great grandma who has since passed away. Budge's dad let us borrow it this year to put up at our house and P loves it. Pretty amazing. Parker loves to play hide and seek in the Christmas tree, take off the ornaments and is trying to make the Ho Ho Ho sound of Santa Claus. He continues to amaze us each day! This Christmas is going to be a special one with him. Hope everyone has a great week ahead! Off to San Francisco next weekend.

Thanksgiving 2009

Sorry about being the worst blogger this month. I just noticed I have not updated since the beginning of the month. To begin with, we went to Ronna and Erik's wedding in South Lake Tahoe. It was such a blast to see old college friends. What a goregous setting and of course they looked amazing. Congratulations again Ronna and Erik!

Then somehow Thanksgiving was just around the corner. Budge and I decided to host this event this year and we had 23 people. So much fun and really pretty amazing for Parker to have all his family around. I think we have decided to host every other year. We appreciate everyone that traveled from far distances. We are so thankful to have you in our lives.

On Friday morning, we headed up to Lake Almanor for our annual Christmas tree cutting adventure. We never know what it is going to be like getting our perfect tree. Holly, Kyle and Bryn joined us up there for the night also.

Back to work tomorrow. I think I can do it. Who knows?!

Trick or Treating 2009

We could not have asked for a more beautiful weekend here. The weather was fabulous. We went over to Holly and Kyle's house for a yummy lasagna dinner and out for some trick or treating activities. Parker was not too sure about the whole going up to the houses, but towards the end he was practically running up everyone's driveway. Today we hiked Castle Crags. It was awesome and I think I am going to be sore. I decided I needed to be the one to carry Parker up the hike. Have a great first week of November! Headed to Tahoe next weekend for Ronna's wedding.

Of course we decide to go to the pumpkin patch in the middle of a hot afternoon. P loved the tractors, looking at the animals, saying "choo-choo" to the train and throwing the pumpkins rather than picking them. Thank goodness we were far out in the patch so no one could see. Have a great week!

What is crazy to think about is that a year ago, Parker was still waking up in the middle of the night, could not sit up, was just beginning to eat rice cereal, had no hair, had alittle smile and was half of the weight he is now. To think that in just a year so much has happened, now I tell him to help me do something and he does. He absolutely loves throwing things in the trash and the other day I broke a glass, after cleaning the floor mind you, and he goes to get the broom. Of course, I did not let him come near the area and confined him to his high chair while I cleaned it up, but it is so amazing the things he does each day. More pics to come from his dress up day at daycare!

Fall Festival

We had some family visitors on Friday night. My Dad and Pam decided to drive up and hang out with us. They had such a blast watching Parker walk everywhere and continually cracked up with all the talking he does. My dad kept saying he must take after his mother:) We went to the farmer's market and watched some Oregon football. I had to head out at 4 to head down to school for our annual Fall Festival. I asked Budge if he would bring Parker down dressed up. They showed up and Budge was amazed at how many people know Parker, kids and adults. They went through the haunted house which Parker loved. The fourth grade makes one that is kid-friendly. He got his face painted with a spider on it. It was a great turn out and I am glad my family was there to be a part of it. In case you are wondering, no haircut for P yet. We had a crazy week. Maybe Thursday. We will see. Off to the pumpkin patch!

Happy Sunday to all of you! We had a great weekend home. Yesterday we went to the farmer's market, enjoyed a delicious breakfast with Grandpa Bill and Uncle Chris, and had a fun get together with friends. I am so bummed I did not take any pictures of all the kiddos last night that were over. They had such a blast playing together. Today we took P on a bike ride on the river trail. First time he walked across the Sundial Bridge. He is quite the talker as you can tell. Looks like there is a storm coming. Means indoor recess but I miss my class kids so it will be okay. ON the schedule this week, flu shots maybe if there are any left, first haircut for P and our last session of family portraits. Enjoy the rest of the day.

Fall Break 2009 & Seattle

Sorry I have been lagging on blogging. We have had a busy week. My mom came to visit last weekend for a night and she enjoyed every minute of reading and watching P walk all about. Thanks mom for coming up. It is always nice to see you!

On Monday, Parker and I headed to Seattle for a few days with the Perry family. Little did we know when we planned the trip it would be the first few days in their brand new house. We had a blast going to the aquarium, discovery museum and the mall play area. The weather was beautiful minus the dreadful down pour we got ourselves into at the Space Needle. Regardless, it was great to spend time with an old friend and our kids. Thank you for all the hospitality and cannot wait to make the trip again soon.

I am absolutely loving this stage with Parker. He is curious about the world around him and tried to communicate with me as often as he can. The smile that comes on his face when Budge or I gets home is incredible. Well, it is back to work for me on Monday. So sad, but I can handle another five weeks and then it is Thanksgiving. Crazy:) Everyone enjoy their weekend. I know I will:)

Fall is coming!

Last weekend was a scorcher here with it getting up to 115 on Saturday. This weekend is a different story, nice cool 70 degree weather with some wind. As far as the family, we are here together this weekend which is nice. We are getting a few things done with the house before all the holiday craziness comes. Parker is a walking machine, hardly crawls anymore at all. It is amazing how much in one week he has improved with walking. Currently, he loves reading books like the Very Hungry Caterpillar and looking a the tool catalog his Great Uncle Bill gave him. I am thinking Santa will be bringing some sort of tractor or truck for him to play in. He continues to stay healthy and happy. One more week and we are off to Seattle just P and I. So excited. Have a great fall weekend.

Latest School Picture!

So for the past couple of weeks, Parker has taken a few steps and then falls to his normal fast crawl. This week was different. He has mastered his balance and can walk pretty well although when he is tired he tends to still crawl. I would have to say that out of all the time P has been in our lives the past few months have been some of the greatest. He understands us when we talk to him. If I tell him to go get me a book he will or want to mow the lawn he shakes his head yes. It is truly is incredible. He really isn't a baby any more but turning into a great toddler. The Blue Angels have been flying around the past couple of days and P loves to watch them from the car window on our way home from school. Today is the actual airshow and I guess they fly right over the house. I cannot wait to see the look on his face. Only a couple of weeks until I head to Seattle to visit Andrea and Olivia. Cannot wait:) Hanging around this weekend in the 107 degree heat. I am so ready for fall to get here. I would enjoy a bit of a cool down. Have a great weekend all!

Sorry about not blogging in awhile. We have been busy with Budge out of town and headed to the bay area for a wedding. Here are some recent photos. I am going to try and put a video on tomorrow. He is so close to walking. He says "backpack" and enjoys mowing the lawn in the backpack. Mainly this post is about our very dear friends Tim and Tania and their new baby Corey. I was amazed at the jealousy P had when I help Corey. He had to be right at my side. Crazy. Guess no additions for us any time soon. Hope everyone has a great week.

Labor Day Weekend 2009!

My little guy who really is not that little anymore. 15 months on Thursday! Time flies.

Not much new up here in good old Redding town. On Thursday, Budge left for a fishing trip with the guys, so Parker and I decided to head up to the Lake on Saturday morning to get one last day of summer fun. There is this awesome park right next to the house which Parker is beginning to love. He played for hours in the sand and was content just crawling around everywhere. He is really close to walking and I thinking within the next couple of weeks he will be on the move. We miss Budge but know he is having a great time. Summer of weddings!

Finally our computer is fixed and I can update this blog. As you can see in the last post, Grandma Linda's wedding was a fun one. The following weekend we headed to Pleasanton for Kelly and Eric's wedding. Another beautiful ceremony and reception. Last weekend was my little sister's wedding in Oregon. We left right after work on Thursday and drove as far as we could. (Made it to Eugene) Parker was a dream traveler. Loves to point and scream at the trucks, look at books and play with his toys. We took the gas guzzling truck up there thinking we would need the DVD player. Turns out we turned it on for a few minutes on the way home and he was not interested at all. As we are driving on Thursday, We get a call from Grandma Linda asking us if we have Parker stuff because there is a bag in his room. Budge and I looked at each other and realized we had left all of his stuff at home except the tux as that was on a hanger. Went to Target on Friday morning quickly to get a few things. After all of our travels, I am actually surprised this is the first time this has happened to us. Chelsea and Ryan we wish you a lifetime of happiness. This weekend's schedule stay at home and get our life back in order. Oh yeah, P got pink eye this week. Not so fun for dad as he had to stay home with him, but as a good dad he said he actually enjoyed staying home with the little man. Well, got to go to those first graders and get P out of bed. Enjoy the rest of the week. It is almost Friday. Yeah!!

The next day was the wedding. We tried to tire P out by crawling all around our hotel room but it did not work. Budge took him to the pool as I left to get ready with the girls. Turned out he feel asleep an hour before the ceremony.

Unfortunately, our computer sort of died and that is why I have not been able to update the wedding photos. (If you are curious, you can see them at http://budge.smugmug.com/gallery/9241679_XUAyf/1/616981311_tWCwU). P looked so cute in his tux. Hopefully the computer will be back up and running shortly. I started back to work this week and P started back at daycare. I have really enjoyed this summer with him and am once again going to be looking forward to the weekends hanging out with the little man. We are off to Pleasanton for Kelly's wedding. Always so much fun seeing old college buddies and then we are off to Portland next Thursday night for my sister's wedding. Hope everyone has a great weekend! Keep your fingers crossed that our computer is ok!

Parker and I woke up early on Thursday morning to head up to Tahoe. He is such a good little traveler. We arrived to cold weather and even some rain. It was some surprising weather for Tahoe and thank goodness I packed some warm clothes for P. We hung out Thursday, enjoyed a yummy BBQ with friends and family. That evening we headed over to Lone Eagle Grille and listened to some music. It was a great night for the beginning of a great weekend!

On Friday morning, it was still pretty chilly. We went for a walk/run and decided to hang out at the condo beach. Parker loves the sand especially throwing it at everyone. That evening, friends and family came over for appetizers before heading over to listen to more music and people watch.

A Visit to Great Grandma and Grandpa!

On our way to Lake Tahoe this weekend, Parker and I decided to go early and spend the night at my grandparents. They were so excited to see him. They took us out to dinner and P amazed them at sitting through dinner. Here are some photos of our night. Thanks again for letting us come by. See you in few weeks for Chelsea's wedding.

Like I mentioned before, we stayed home this weekend and got a ton of things done around the house. I headed down to my classroom early Saturday to get organized for the year head. While I was gone Budge and Parker went to the Farmer's Market and planted some flowers in the front yard. I mention this because Budge said Parker enjoyed it so much that he was covered from head to toe in dirt. That kid loves to get dirty and it does not bother him one bit. Too bad Budge didn't get a photo. I am sure we will one of these days. We had a great dinner at Grandpa Bill's on Friday night. Parker loved the swimming pool!

I found out that I have my job back for next year. Now I am frantically trying to get in the "back-to-school" mode. We still have a couple weeks of summer left and I am trying to get everything together as quick as I can so I can enjoy the rest of my time with the little man. Parker is trying to stand on his own. He cruises around the windowsills, walls and coffee table pretty well. He consistently tries to talk and looks at us like why do we not understand what he is saying. Before school was let out, the daycare ladies asked me to work on the sign language for please. Parker signs please all the time. I am going to try to get a video of it and post it. He makes Budge and me smile each and everyday. I could not be happier. This weekend we are staying home and I could not be more excited about it. The upcoming three weekends we are attending weddings in Lake Tahoe, Pleasanton and Portland, OR! Hope everyone is having a great Friday!
